There's an article there? All I see is ads...

Joking aside, SEO changes all the time. These type of "SEO will die" articles have been around for years.

As long as the SE's continue to provide "natural" results, and they base the placement of those results, in part, on off page factors, SEO will exist.

The article is almost an oxymoron in my opinion - it could just as easily been entitled "SEO Will Boom as Search Engines Develop" ... another pointless attempt at gaining page views and readership while pushing a gizillion ads across the monitor.

    In a word? Pointless.

    Just my .02.

Page 1, 2 and 5: I mostly agree. Page 3 and 4: he says a lot of things I think he can't prove, and he is merging SEO and spammers.

I think he did a very good job of summarizing changes that have occurred both in Googles Algo as well as in the SEOs response to those changes.

BUT, as others have already said, it is THOSE very changes that create the need for Search Engine Optimization.

Also, once the author finished his little "historical summary" he then took a giant leap in which he assumed everyone would follow.

I do NOT agree with his conclusion.

    - I wonder how his "click throughs" are doing?...
