SEO and RSS from my blog on seperate domain...

    Hi guys,

Ok so here's my situation... I have an e-commerce site where I would like to display an RSS feed from my wordpress blog on a similar topic but seperate domain (this was put on a seperate domain mainly for marketing and promotion purposes). I would like to know if there's any SEO advantage to displaying snippets from my blog (4 or 5 articles) on the index page of my commerce site (i'm using CARP). People would click on the headline and link to the blog on the other domain.

What if I made the rss feed publishable from my commerce site, is that even possible? I want to drive traffic to the commerce site more than anything, while not pissing any of the SE's off.

    Any ideas?

There will no advantage unless you plan on promote this other site as well. So whats the point? You will end up having to promote two sites just to promote one site.

hmmm so would you say that I would create a lot more value and traffic by having my blog live within the E-commerce domain itself?

yeah it's best to put your efforts and resources in to one site.
Creating new sites to promote sites only creates more work.

Ok so would it be best to just place my blog in a folder on the root of my site... for example: "http://www.mysitename.com/blog"

    What about "http://blog.mysitename.com"

Are there any advantages of one over the other??
