is it true that i'll have a hard time indexing .info sites with google. do they differentiate .com/.net/.org from .info

No. Google give no preference to TLDs.

 

prchecker.info is the first result in searches. take this site for example as it has .info extension

 

.info SEO perfectly fine.

Google's preferential treatment of TLDs has to do with three factors:

1. The appropriateness of the TLD to language of the search user.
2. The appropriateness of the TLD to the country where the search user is.
3. TLDs that imply a degree of editorial trust, such as .edu, .gov or .mil. Google gives these preference because not any random idiot can register them.

.com, .org, .info, etc. are considered global TLDs. Google does not give preference to one gTLD over another gTLD.

 

.info is just as good as .com or .edu.

As per my experience, Yes...its quite difficult to get going with .info...no need to go deeper or post any videos here...its a common sense that .info domains being cheapest, have been prone to spam...so Google always index them half heartedly...once you gain the necessary trust over a period of time, thereafter everything is same for all TLDs.

 

.info is the same as the .com, .org, .net, there is no especial preference by GG.

There's no difference in SEOing a .info domain.
With proper optimization, it can rank high too.

 

I have some .info domains and they have had no problems in getting good search result exactly the same as my other .com and .net sites,in theory they are often seen as 2nd grade domains but in practice they are just the same.

 

I'd say that the domain name or extension is not at all a problem to promote. The only advantage of the domain extension is we can say whom our target is.

 

as far as my personal experience .GOOGLE boot don't care what ever your domain is .it look through your content and that's all .

These are just to define the nature of web-page like subject, geographical location, organization etc, but there is no difference in their optimization. All can be optimized in same way.

 

I have some .info domains but they don't seem to do well in the rankings. In any case I'm still testing this out.

 

Never think that they are not doing well in SERP due to .info. It would be due to less seo work on it.

 

I worked once with .info domain. But till now i coudnt achieve the thing wat i had expected... but i hav good experience with .net and .com domains

 

In my case it took around 1.5 days to start showing my new .info domain contents after having 2 to 3 back links. I feel there is no difference in between .info and other tlds when SEO is considered.

 

While Google is TLD agnostic and treats .com and .info the same... The same cannot be said about users and other webmasters. Most people who are even novice web surfers "perceive" .info sites as less legitimate than .com sites, so even if you get it to rank, your click-thru-rates in the SERPs will typically be much lower than if you had the same name with a .com TLD. And a large percentage of other webmasters definitely know that .info sites are typically purchases because the site owner couldn't get a .com, .net, or .info... and are much less likely to link naturally to a .info site than to the same domain with a .com TLD.

 

I don't think .info is different from other domain extensions (.com,.net etc) . I have blog and sites having each kind of domain extensions. I have never seen any difference.
