Was watching a TV programme talking about advertising online blah blah blah. One thing they said that got me thinking was google gmail. They pretty much said the following ... "google scans/reads every email sent to a gmail account. depending on the links/terms within the email body, google will work out the most relevent ads to place on the page - they appear to the right of the message (ppc)" So if a email contains the terms 'im going bald' google is likley to place ads for 'hair loss' to page when the email is opened. This go me thinking ... if they are scanning/reading emails in the same way they are reading our web pages, do you think they may add weight to your seo efforts if a email contains your key word that is linked back to your web site?
