i have one question regarding domain name.
www.digitalcameraworld.com and www.digital-camera-world.com
which is best for seo..

www.digitalcameraworld.com is best for SEO. Becuase some times domain name with - and -- will be a problem in caching and visibility

 

Personally I think the first one is better....

 

The second domain name is better - using "-" signs will have a positive effect for your keywords promotion.

If you are building your site for your visitors then use the first, but for the search engines then use the second. Personally I would choose the first as I think that building sites just for the search engine is a waste of time.

both of them are same.but if you want to have a domain that visiters will remember, first one is always better.

 

I think 90% is false, it is much lower than that. It is more around 60 - 70% if not even lower than that. There are many times when someone will go on a website fround through a search engine and then get side tracked by keep clicking on links from one site to the next. I have done it in the past and I know others who has also done that. That is why it is best to get links on sites other than search engines aswell.

Don't get me wrong, search engines are one of the best targetted sources for traffic, but I think it can sometimes be a waste of time building links sometimes depending on how you go about it. If you just advertise freely on sites that will get you alot of traffic, you will automatically get links anyway. The more popular a site becomes the easier it would to get links.

Just think now if you done alot of seo for your site, paid alot of money for high PR links and then Google's algo changes and you have then either become banned or ranked near the bottom of their results. All or most of your traffic would have gone just in a few days. Atleast if you build up a site with brand, awareness, make it popuplar from gaining alot of links that gets high volumns of traffic to your site then at least you have much more control over it. You don't really have no control over google. You traffic can easily be 50,000 uniques on day and then the next it could have all stopped if you just rely on google for you traffic.

 

Having the second domain is definetly correct from the search engine's point of view, but from user's it's not. I think it's worth investing in the first domain bcoz it's good from both SE's and user's perspective. Major search engines like Google & MSN (MSN has been doing it from a long time) can separate common words even if no space is given between them. Try searching for "mobile phone", and you will notice dat "mobile" and "phone" appear in bold font, in the urls of all domains (also which have no hyphens), dat shows Google can separate common words automatically.

 

You are best using the 2nd.This is best from seo point of view.
