If you just have general interest in SEO, you dont need to buy any experts book. Those books are published for experts. you can read simple seo blog and article on net which is written by experts. That is pretty enough for you to get general knowledge about SEO. Good luck.

 

I have to say the best 'start off' book was the Chris Standring one. That was very easy to give me a very broad picture and covers most of the basics.

 

Im about a 3rd of the way through this book now. It is really easy to read. I am not following along with the examples but it is giving me a good idea in the back of my mind of the things I will need to do should I want to go down the path of an SEO campaign.

It has also been helpful in identifying the basic things that effect browsers in the HTML of a document. Things I will now pay much more emphasis on when I am building a site.

So although i am not using the book to its full potential, still a very good read.

 

ACtually, When I was newbie to SEO, I had learned everything here from DP. I hve to thank DP members for that. I have read others threads and get more knowledge and ask my threads via creating new threads and now I am in stable position on SEO knowledge

So, I don't think you have to spend some money, Because, you can learn here in DP for FREE
