I am in the process of launching a property rental website that for now is directed for Canadian tenants and landlords. I am not sure exactly where to start with the advertising/SEO I have been advised to begin with buying 1 or 2 pr3+ back links and slowly build I would appreciate someone to give me advice on the best course of action. The budget for the SEO/Advertising I can do about 500 maybe more if needed. Any help would be appreciated
two websites on your sig are not working... no content ... offer to post apartment/room for rent on classifieds website? I see a lot of websites like yours doing that on craigslist then any general seo trick will help your business.. keyword advertising is probably too expensive for your budget.. how about offering free rental agreement form download? that could be a start
Would wait a bit with buying links. Do all the basic stuff first: Directory Submissions (niche ones), Press Release, Article Submission and so on.

I already had kijiji and craigslist in mind, thank you for the reminder though, adwords would probably be to expensive your right. How is offering the forms going to help, there is not one or 2, there is many of them for each province do i download them all and make them available through my sight or just provide links to the sites they are already on *government sites* I was thinking of hiring someone to find out what the site needs and where and what type of advertising to be done, has anyone done this and can recommend someone that can take a fresh new site and advice on EXACTLY what to do or even they do it and report back, I am not just talking about SEO i am talking about everything all together.
I would say create a free report that your customers can send to each other. Be honest, while I have no immediate idea of what in your case, I've seen free e-books deliver some pretty stellar results.
