I'm looking to buy a video site and so far I've noticed that none of them seem to have any text that can be spidered and used to improve their rankings. Just wondered if there was a reason for this, whether the script they use doesn't allow for this. I don't wanna buy a video site and then find that I can't SEO it. Although when you think about it, how much spidereable text is there on Youtube, and it seems to do ok in the rankings, which is one way of putting it.
You can always seo it even if it might require script changes. There is nothing preventing you from doing it.
I have an experimental video site and I have found that is it difficult to optimize due to the nature of the site. A text based site is pretty straight forward in comparison. The key to to focus your content and pick your target audience.
You can't do much besides make sure the titles are descriptive and maybe you can write a bit of a description of the video and make sure to throw in keywords.
Video reviews... Combine with a blog type interface.. Good well chosen content is the best SEO... May want to look at the urls too..
As far as I understand the SE's like video and or YOuTube. So if it is a YUTube than might as utilize it as once or twice in your site. Better yet make your own. Upload it to You Tube than copy and paste or embed the video into your site.
