Hello Dp members ,
well i have made a forum :modforum.net
it has solid keyword and domain needed for gernal modding forums /xbox modding /psp modding or in genral console modding ,
well i need help in genral how could i SEO a forum
well the forum is a MyBB 1.6 and i would be adding content soon
How would you recommend i SEO a forum ?
i have experience with website SEO and baclinks but
this is my first time forum and i want to spread the word out
there are many kids who play games so how could i reach out to them ?

any help would be appreciated greatly

promote your forum through social media and social networking sites. These sites contain huge traffic, So it would be easy for you to spread there.

Through SEO forum you can get alot of backlinks from dofollow post thus helps in increasing ranking on keywords..

Well you need to posts many and many threads and post over your forums and try to contact webmasters personally join your forum.Then for kids whom are playing in many ways you need to assign moderation to some of good and reliable moderators(Web Masters).
To promote your forum i don't think that I have to explain how you should do it because you are an SEO by default with lots of experience.

where should i add the keywords
should i add it in the index.php of my board ?

Yes this is one of the good idea if you categorize broad sections in your index.php pages of your forum board.
For placing all these keywords in your forum index you will find what should be the parent category and then find out the suitable sub-category or child category for those main ones.
These should be manage in a tree manner "Root to Leaf".

Join other international social networking sites as well as local sites.

There are many forums related to Xbox and PSP, join them, solve their problems ask their community members to join your forum too.

Every time you create a threat or post, spread it on all social networking sites, do tweet and tweets, and also use other On Page and Off Page SEO techniques that you used for promoting websites.

Simple, just follow me: Log into the Admin CP -> Templates & Styles -> Templates -> Default Templates -> Index Page Templates -> index. Now you should see the HTML template of MyBB index page.

Locate this line:

<title>{$mybb->settings['bbname']}</title>

And possibly, change it to:

<title>{$mybb->settings['bbname']} - site keywords, your keywords and more keywords</title>

Just change it according to your SEO keywords research.
