I have a certain website. I'll call it www.mysite.com. I have advertised this website rather extensively in print by way of business cards and literature, emails, etc. It is about cars. In this domain and url I have no mention of the keyword "cars". Strictly for the purposes of seo, I want to change the url of the website to be www.mycarsite.com(totally fictitious name for this conversation only). Since I have advertised in print the other url mysite.com I still want to allow customers to find my website at that url, but I want the search engines to be more in tune with the mycarsite.com url. Can I do this? If so, how would I go about it.? If you can help me, thanks.
yeah, exactly just redirect the first name to the new name with cars in the url. it's about a 5 minute fix.
The 301/302 would work but it really wouldn't give you any seo value - How about create a keyword heavy page that would be picked up by the search engines and have it automaticly forward to the carsite
Thanks for the feedback. I think I will try to redirect temporarily while I am putting together a keyword heavy page. Once I get the page built I will just forward it to the car site. Thanks again everybody
