LOL.. Yea that's a good idea.. In my days of just trying anything to make money, I had someone else send out 60k emails and I got less than a 1000 opens.. The numbers were not on my side that day..

    Oh well..

Maybe you should invest in aweber and build a list... Just a thought...

Actually getting 50 reply from 500 is quite a good response rate - it is 10%. Unless the response is unsubscribe...

To be fair its a 10% response rate so that's not too bad. Are the people subscribers by the way? Because if your just spamming, which isn't good, rate is not a poor return. Having said that no spam but you must have said something positive.

Not really a good way to go about getting work -- if anything, spamming will just decrease your chances. No one likes to receive unwanted emails and sometimes they don't even get through the junk filter.

As other people have noted though, 10% response is actually quite good.

If the list you sent the email to, was double optin list of targeted people to your niche, 10% is quite average response (of course if you are not spamming as said above)... Which means you are on o good way :)

It depends on the title of your subject and the content of the email as well. Have a you built a relationship with your mailing list? Do you provide quality content or products? You have to factor these in when sending out an email.
