AI newbie here. How do you send the client a vector logo? When I save my logo as EPS, it is still in a thousand pieces. Is it possible to "Flatten" logo like in Photoshop and sending it as vector? My logo has some transparency which I'd like to keep. How do you send a scalable vector logo that has transparency in a way that a client can easily open and view the file? Thanks in advance!C

i use gimp as well as photoshop. I have no idea what an EPS is in terms of graphics (so im probly more of a noob then you are)

In either gimp or photoshop you can save it as .png, it will flatten all layers and retain transparency.... but this is not exactly scaleable, sorry that i couldnt provide you with the best answer but perhaps .png will help you for the time being.

    Hello cojo1124,

EPS is just one of the types of files you can use for sending a Vector logo to your client. Two options are .ai and .cdr. The logo factory recommends saving in both Vector format and pixel based format. "For all intents and purposes you should have 2 types of formats of your new (or old) logo design. You should have access to both a vector based version (these should have one of these the file extensions .eps, .ai, .cdr and in the case of Flash animation, either .fla or ..swf) and a pixel based version (these can vary wildly in size and resolution but the most common versions will feature the extensions .jpg, .gif, .png and in the case of Adobe Photoshop, .ps)." The link is here: http://www.thelogofactory.com/logo-file-formats/.

    Hope this helps,

    Shawn

You should save the logo as a low-res jpeg at the proofing stage to prevent the client altering the logo himself or taking it elsewhere... unless you trust your client that is??

Do you have photoshop as well? If so just open the file you saved in photoshop then save it as a PNG.
