Hi, I know there is a post below which tries to answer my questions, but i want to be more explicit here. I have a paypal account registered in the name of my cousin and we both using the same account to receive/send money. Now what i want to know is...whether i can use Xoom to send money to myself from that paypal account....i.e the accnt is registered in the name xyz...can i send money with that paypal account to myself using the demand draft option drawn on the name abc? If not, can u suggest any other services which i can use to send money to myself?? Btw...i am an Indian
Yes, you can surely do it. But you will need to create the xoom a/c on the name of XYZ (I mean with the name with your PayPal a/c). XOOM a/c detail should match with the data on file with PayPal. Don't go for local pick up, you can use it for direct bank deposit or cheque request. So what you need to do is, make a XOOM a/c with the name xyz as a sender & send money to the recipient having the name abc. But the address must be different. You can't get it successfully if your address is on file with your PayPal as a billing address. So I can suggest to do the following thing. *Sign up with XOOM using your profile data on PayPal (i.e. Name & Address) *Send money to your name but at a different address as here the sender & recipient are different by name.
thanks for the reply...so if i change the address of the paypal accnt and then send the money to my address...will that work... as u could have guessed from above, the address of the paypal accnt is same as mine...since we live in the same house...so if i change it to my...say other relative...then create an account in xoom...and then send the money to myself...will that be ok?
Well, this is not a wise step to do so. You will need to change the billing address of your PayPal, not the shipping address. To do so, you will need to remove your existing Credit Card first & then add another Credit Card to change your billing address. So instead of doing so & playing with your valuable PayPal a/c, just get a cheque at your relative's address using c/o address. Suppose your name is abc & your relative's name is pqr then add the reciepient address as ABC, c/o PQR & the address of your relative.
as far as i know you can do this but indeed it's against the policies but xoom will not know about this and you can withdraw your money
