Sending enewsletters to my members

As I believe is the case with most hosting companies my host limits the amount of emails that can be sent (I think 500 per hour) via their mail servers.

When I want to send newsletters to my members (approx 40,000) I need another solution. As such I have a hosting account with another company who does allow unlimted emails (but otherwise has very bad service) and I have set up my own bulk email software there. This facility was agined after some arm twisting. I would like to look for another option for sending my emails but not through a regular list management company as that is not what I have ( ie I have website members not just a list).

Any ideas for specialist email server hosting companies etc etc?

    Thanks

Is this a dedicated server, I'm assuming not. You can actually do this all directly from your computer with the correct software. Google mass e-mailers :)

Just about any hosting company will let you do it if you have a dedicated server instead of a shared hosting plan. It's not really the bandwidth they care about, it's the load it puts on the server to send 40,000+ emails on a regular basis, which is more than enough to crash a shared hosting server.

I'd recommend this aswell. You can get monitored VPS accounts aswell, so if anything goes majorly wrong with it, your vps provider will help you out and not just leave you to sort it out.

Thanks, yes I'll check out the "monitored" option to save on hassels.
