Senate denies Net Neutrality

    Hey guys,

I find this issue disturbing. The senate basically gave the Telco's the leverage they need to screw us. It might not seem that way now, but I have a feeling that in the long run, you are going to have to pay an arm and a leg to get any ad space and have that ad space show up where you like.

If anyone knows more about it, please post. Aside from advertising in MMOs, this issue is pretty big for me. And it should be big for anyone who uses the internet for business or a way of life.

The most important thing that each of us can do for this issue is to contact our respective senators and ask them to support network neutrality and explain to them why network neutrality is so important. Although savetheinternet.com has a canned petition one can send to their senator, it would be more effective to rewrite their petition in one's own words and send it to one's senators via their senators' website contact forms. Go to http://www.senate.gov to find your senators' websites.

I don't know how effective contacting the senators will be, as most are being bought off by the same corporate interests that won't to remove net neutrality...but it is better than nothing.

Some senators won't listen at all, but other senators are sitting on the fence over this issue and could be persuaded to support network neutrality if they see their constituents demanding it.

We could just argue about it. I say we all contact our officials. They dont listent to just one person, but if they get input by the thosands, they most likely will.
