SEM - 43k searches/day. SEO - 3k searches/day

I was messing around with the DP kw tool, and noticed that search engine marketing gets 43k searches/day, while search engine optimization gets around 3k searches/day.

Is anyone else surprised by that? Of course, it's based on Yahoo, not Google. So that might explain some of the difference. Anyways, I blogged about it here.

Yeh, that's suprising to me. Perhaps many of the SEO searches are divided up into other keywords, like link building, etc, etc.

I would never have guessed that, though. :p

It's probably some guy trying to rank for "search engine marketing" and he's checking SERPs like 50 thousand times a day to see if he's # 1 yet. :D
