I have 10 websites I want to sell. I think I want to sell them one at a time at flippa.com. What is the best way to do this? Or what is the most common procedure when doing this? I was thinking of two different ways: 1) A) Buying a web hosting plan at Hostgator and transfer the content from my current hosting (also at hostgator) to the new hosting account. Then when the site is sold I just hand the login info over to the buyer. B) Then I recommend the buyer to use Namecheap and transfer my domain name to him/her. This will be done at no costs if the buyer choose Namecheap as the registrar. 2) A) Only send the database and all the files to the buyer, then they could to the rest themselves. B) Then I recommend the buyer to use namecheap and transfer my domain name to him/her. This will be done att no costs if the buyer choose Namecheap as the registrar. So what is the best way to do this? Any suggestions? By the way, what I miss about Flippa is some help info about how to do these kind of things.
Most of the time when I sell sites at Flippa I have in my product description that I will personally transfer the website myself to make sure it functions correctly. So almost always the buyer will create an account for me on their hosting plan and I will transfer and set everything up myself, then just tell them when it's done.
Every time I've bought a site, the seller has given me the db and files and I set it up myself. That's how I'd prefer it, but offering to install for the buyer could be an extra perk.
Thanks for your input on this subject and your answers from both the seller's viewpoint and buyer. I'm ready for selling my sites now.
