Selling through godaddy

from what i've read, a lot of people recommend using escrow.com or escrowdns.com sell my domain.

but my if my domain currently resides with godaddy, wouldnt i be just as well off selling it through their auctions? i spoke to them on the phone yesterday, and they seem to handle the auction, the transfer of money, and the transfer of the domain.

so is there any downside of going through them?

this is the first domain i've tried to sell but i have a couple domains that i'm looking to get rid of and need some direction. thanks!

I would say go for it. You have already talked to them and such. Maybe refer to an info pages about their auctions
I would also post on Sedo.com for free posting.
Posting on flippa.com cost money, but it's a good auction site as well.

    Best of luck.

They actually dont help transfer the domain, once the buyer pays its up to you.

@VOnline, you said its free at Sedo.com. So what's the catch?

@2Girls, if there's no middleman managing the transfer of the domain, wouldnt the buyer be hesitatnt to pay me before they get their hands on it? Couldn't I theoretically run off with the money?

You would think when they pay, GD would auto transfer it to them. But in reality you jave to be contact with the person the whole way. I would favour sedo over GD auctions.

Unless you have really good domains, you have a better chance of hitting a small jackpot then selling them at either of those sites. Just list them here or on ebay. Escrow would be for top of the line domains. Worth $1000s.

Never had much luck selling on go daddy. I would try selling through other avenues unless your domain(s) are very premium.

i have a few domains that i expect to sell in excess of $1,000. and a few below. is the $1,000 mark where you consider it "premium"???

why should i use godaddy for the "premium" domains and somewhere else for the "non-premiums"???

and where else do you recommend I go with those "non-premiums"???

    please advise. thanks!
