Selling Software + Site + Affiliate Program

Ok, I have spent the last few days adding to Winboggle, which I had posted up for sale previously here.

The summary of the Application and Site is pretty much the same, but I have now added an affiliate program. I just finished it about a half hour ago, fully tested and works great. Everything is integrated into Paypal.

You can read more about the affiliate program here and on the Winboggle site here.

There is still no revenue as I haven't started marketing, only done the programming so far. Once again, I don't feel obligated to sell, but I do want to put it up for sale (I definitely enjoy and am better at programming than marketing).

The starting bid will be $2500
This is approximately 10 months profit if you sell 1 copy of the application per day, all through the affiliate program (revenue $9.95-$2.00 cost to affiliate)

I think this is a very conservative estimate. If you get a decent sized affiliate pool going, one sale per day seems very low.

I am placing a Buy It Now for 4x the starting bid at $10,000.

    Included in the sale is
    • Site and Affiliate Program Source Code
    • All rights to the custom design (along with .psds)
    • Domain Name
    • Full Source Code to all versions of the Application (Windows, OS X, and Linux)
    • Full Rights to Everything
    • Customization of the Website to link with your Paypal account
    • 10 Hours of additional Consulting Time from Me (help with code, small updates, etc)
    • A noncompete clause from me. I will not create a product that competes with Winboggle for a minimum of 2 years.

All sales will go through Escrow.com; the Escrow fee will be split equally between buyer and seller.

Feel free to ask any questions on your mind :)

Again, Starting bid $2,500. BIN $10,000.

Auction goes for at least 36 hours, plus 12 hours after the last bid received or until a BIN order is placed.

No, the site is new; I haven't marketed it at all. There aren't any ads on the pages. And if there were ads, there's no traffic, so there would be no ad revenue. The profit-making paradigm that I was aiming for with this site is sales of the product.

But, of course, the buyer would be welcome to put ads on the site.

Interesting looking site and software concept but, regardless of this 'affiliate pool' you're saying the owner will get, the niche is so targetted that i have a hard time imagining it getting more than 1 sale a week.

Not to be a Jerk, but the product is unproven and the potential market capacity for the product is undefined by you. Realistically you can't expect any buyer to pay you simply based on your time spent to develop this project (not to say that your time isn't worth anything). $2500 is a steep price for something that has no proven income ability. What you need to do is make a few sales, get a couple of affilaites and then you will get a realistic amount of interest in your site.

I had my first affiliate sign up. 4 clicks through the Adwords campaign. No sales as of yet.

Edit: Had a second affiliate sign up.

Another advantage of the affiliate program is that it will build good (probably permanent) backlinks.
