I started a hosting company in May of this year. I have been marketing mostly to the United States as my data center is located in Phoenix, Arizona USA. A couple Chinese sites reviewed my services and now I am getting more orders for Virtual Servers from China than USA. I know when they setup their proxy software because they have to request that TUN/TAP gets enabled. I would like to market more towards China but I fear circumventing the censorship of an entire nation may have negative consequences. Is this illegal for me to offer? Is it illegal for my clients in China? Does anyone have thoughts or suggestions? Also PM me if you can read/write Chinese and are interested in translating.
Quick Answer, without getting into a discussion on china as a nation: You're committing no crimes. The people in china will be comitting a crime using your service.
As GoldenGrahams said, you are not committing any crime. It is legal for Chinese to use proxy because that is not in Chinese law( the censorship is actually the illegal thing).
