Selling PHP Scripts

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by iBold, Mar 12, 2006.

I sell a number of PHP scripts that I am looking to further advertise...
They range from classifieds scripts to dating scripts, and lots inbetween. I already advertise on HotScripts.com and am looking for other avenues to experiment with (in other words I have some expendable cash atm :) ). I have tried both Y and G ppc programs with very little success. Is there anyone else out there who sells scripts who can suggest a place where they have had success advertising? I'm looking to spend less then $20 per conversion if that helps any(I have a 3% conversion rate, making what I'm willing to spend about $0.60 per lead).

I would advertise this on forums for new webmasters or information sites. Try to talk to those sites' owners that you think would be interested to advertise it and offer some money for new customers.

P.S. Wanna barter scripts for advertising?

Was trying to put off the SEO bit until the very end. The site is pretty well aged (a few years) and I haven't really put much effort into my SERPs. Guess that's the next step..

What kind of advertising were you thinking andriusk?

You could get immense amount of links though your php scripts if you make them open source... Well just thought to give you an advice... It's your script and you should do what you feel to do with it..

I have submitted to them, two or three times at least, going back a few years. It doesn't appear like they ever update as nothing ever gets reviewed by them.

That's too bad. Maybe you have to contact them about a sponsored listing?

If you have a script relating to a specific topic then writing an article about that topic can help.
Even if you don't get any sales you build some good links for the long term ;)
