Hey i own and run this Soccer site. Soccer Globe

Was considering the possibility of selling one link at the end of every post.

    Something like this.

Will it offend the Google Gods in anyway? Even if it doesn't. Is it a good idea?

My site doesn't have a very high PR or anything but the traffic is very good. All Unique. 2500+ UVs Daily. Mostly US n UK. Coming from Newsnow.

    Traffic Stats for today

People might want to buy these Links for a small price? .. Any idea how much i should charge?

2 Many questions i know :D . But i really need some help and advice on this.

Would highly appreciate any feedback. :)

    Regards
    Linkage :)

This seems like a pretty popular method of selling links at the moment. It seems to go un noticed by Google, but that's only for the time being. Don't expect to be able to do that forever but it should work in the short term.

The mighty G says that the link should be nofollow. If it is, then it'll not be discounted at all, especially if it has that 'visit our sponsor' claim on it.

When selling such a link it is best to tell the buyer that it is nofollow however. Your selling point SHOULD be your daily traffic, which is what they buyer should be about anyway.

That was some real useful information. Thanks a lot. Will keep these points in mind.

    @sallyh

I use Mint Stats software. You can find it here http://haveamint.com/ . But its not free. Worth it though.

    Cheers.

Lol in general web terms I'd be surprised if more than 20% of text link purchases were for traffic. On DP it'll be 5% max. Though I guess you know that since you're keyword spamming in your signature :D

    I sold my sig ;)

My answer was in reply to the original question, and is true as far as Google is concerned so I was not that far off the mark. You are correct though, most buy & sell links based on PR rather then traffic...which is not how it should be, regardless of whether or not it is.

Make the links relevant and Google won't be able to do a thing.
