I've noticed some directories trying to sell paid regular listings on category pages that don't have any PR. I can understand paying for listings on PR3, PR4, etc pages, and have done so myself. But I don't see how anyone can be expected to pay for a listing on a PR0 page. Why are directories trying to charge for listings on these pages? Thank you.
maybe they are trying to make a profit? Maybe they think you will buy a link on speculation that the page will soon get PR?
umm maybe because its a new site... when idk.in was new ... it was a paid directory ... all pages were pr 0 ... mayb a new site ...
Every page on Snoop Directory started as PR0... Those who paid $1.99 certainly got their money's worth since most inner pager have PR now. Start a new dir, pay a lot of money to promote it, then give me free links on it... deal?
i will buy links on pr0 pages as long as i know the website/directory will be promoted get them while they are cheap
Directory listing is valuable for several reasons, page rank is just one Considering that my zero pr directories get a trickle of paid submissions, perhaps other webmasters see a benefit to being listed. Directories cost money to set up an run, plus we directory owners want to make a profit too Basically, you should avoid seeing the internet as being solely about google An yes, my directories are massively promoted, an I plan to escalate this promotion as much as funds permit I am in the search market
Every site starts at pr0 at some time. You have to start somewhere. My Directory is pr0 and has a small fee. Thats because its going to be a long time project and i don't want it filling up with spammy free submissions before it even gets going and i'm in no rush to fill it up. As things are at the moment every submission is going towards promotion of the directory.Directory
Everyone has to start somewhere and I found that some pr0 get promoted alot so that means pr will go up
I think you have got the answer here but I will like to add that, if you buy a link on PR0 category/directory, not necessarily that will stay PR0 for ever. So, you can think it as an investment that will give reward in the long run. You can pay less in start or pay more after the directory is established to get listed in the same category. Choice is always yours. and also, PR is one factor for directories. Its not "the only" concern.
Exactly. There are a whole bunch of other ways that people arrive at directories, and some of them may have nothing to do with the internet at all. PR is rarely the whole picture.
I think someone would submit to a directory regardless of the PR..In my case if I think the directory has potential...and IMO looks cool...it will always have my vote... Linkaroo
i submit to sites that have pr0 all the time..if it looks like a site that may or may not do good..the more eyes that see my site, the better
i have a pr0 directory, and i'm working hard to promote it. you know what i've never asked a bean from anyone .. i've filled up about 300 slots with dp an phpld users. i hope that some other peeps will do the same - this way i contribute.
Yep, it can take a few updates for page rank to filter down and for directory owners to build up some deep links. My webmaster directory WRdir.com was PR4 first update, now it is PR5 last update but still only a couple of inner categories have PR...but it will come. All my listing are permanent so your link will be there when the page rank comes.... I guess for 1-year listings you should probably expect either page rank to already be there (because it can take up to 6 months to come) or for the listing to send you traffic.
It's all about the owner and his/her promotion of the directory. I have bought many PR0 links in the past. Got them cheap, now receiving PR3 - PR4 links I have also given away links (was PR0) before, and now those folks are getting PR3 links for free. Either free or paid, especially paid though, if you think the owner is going to promote the directory, you shouldn't hesitate to get listed yours.
According to Google some say that link from a particular page will be only considered as link from that domain and not from the page! So even if you buy a link on a a PR3 page ,it may be considered as a link from that domain only
I have payed for PR0 links because I know the directory will be well promoted and then I will obtain maybe a PR4-PR5 link for less In my own side, when I started my directory I had featured links for $2, the people who buyed now have their sites on a PR4 link maybe.
