    I'm not sure if an e-commerce site is an appropriate place to sell any kinds of ads/links. Atleast I wouldn't for sure on mine.

    Agreed. Don't sell links on an ecommerce site. The only time it is appropriate is when the buyer is purchasing link space for a market genre complete different. Like you sells baseball cards and they sells tractor parts.
