Hey there, I'm new to all this so sorry if this may sound noobish. Anyway I own an online tool which I paid a coder to make for me. I have been using it myself and would like to be able to sell licences of it, e.g. 1 year license or lifetime etc. (similar to vBulletin) To do this i'm guessing ill have to go through some legal process to protect the code etc. I don't have a clue how to do any of this, so could someone help me get started? Also some other things I don't get, once they have the tool, they could easily just copy the code and sell it on? Is this just something that i'll have to accept, or can it be protected. I'm not sure how vBulletin do their licenses thing (and make people pay every year), but I'm using them as an example of what I would like to do. Thanks.
Zend guard is a bit too expensive for me... azvouchers.com - yes i would like to protect. sorry but i dont have yim i do have msn, if that helps? some more questions, do i need to legally copyright the code? how would i go about the selling of the licenses, e.g. can i find somewhere which will help me to create the website where i sell it all? any info helps, thanks.
http://www.ioncube.com/pricing.php But zend > all as ive come to realise. There are others too, but the encoding seems better with zend. I like it and obfuscatin.
