    Dave,

You clearly state your rule at the beginning:

"Okay thanks everyone for your bids, but sorry this isn't an auction. The price is set at a firm 4k. The first lucky bidder who bids 4k gets the site. "

So please keep your rule and word so everybody can know you say what you mean!

    Thank you!

And google06, even though he said that, would you pass up $1,800 more just to follow the rules? No, its business and you have to live with it.

I know that is what I said. If that held true someone else would have had the site anyways. You were the first person to post bin in the thread but 2nd total. Someone posted bin before you via pm. I did what I thought was fair for everyone. Everyone knew the 6:30 deadline and someone could have just posted their max bid and won the site. I didn't plan on it being that way though.

Yeah. Was that the rule on DP to claim the site sold on thread? BTW. Who post the PM before me? PLease make it public amd I sincerely think that should be the winner.

I wasn't here to post that the site was sold. If I was here when the first user posted bin I would have posted the site was sold. Since I wasn't here people kept saying the bin the site which was a mistake on my part for not being here. I did what I thought was fair. I can't release the info it would be wrong of me to make his bid public if he wants to keep it private.

I would not be happy at all if I posted a bid in private, then had it put on the thread. He obviously sent it in PM as he didnt want everyone to know.

I think you need to cut Dave some slack, he's already admitted he didnt run this quite as well as he should have, but if he comes back to several offers to buy of course he's going to sell it for as much money as he can, he's obviously put a lot of work into the site so its only sensible that he will want the maximum return.

    werewe12,

Then why not claimed it sold on the thread? Look around the other for sale thread on DP, and I think you would agree what I mean. This is pretty much the common rule here on DP, since DP have only the limited manul bid fuction.

Dave had others also who were inquiring about a BIN... He wasn’t at home to read his pm's. He offered an opportunity for everyone to bid on the site... What would you have done in his situation?

It seems that the first person who PM the BIN have no objection of this whole process or maybe that person doesn't exist at all.

Now I agree $$$ can always make people greedy.

Offer a opportunity for everyone? What about that person is NOT in front of computer that time. Maybe it's just fair to you!

This want based on greed at all. If I was that greedy I would have not sold it and posted a higher bin. I have a sale in process for 27k at the moment. Trust me this isn't out of greed. I was doing what was best for everyone. If you would have won the auction I don't think you would have cared how things endend up going.

This is nothing related to GREEDY, google06

I was going to BIN for $3000, but Dave increased the BIN price to $4000, I still think this is a very reasonable price for such a quality site. So I have no objection to his decision.

So just calm down, don't hesitate to post BIN when you find another decent site . :)
