Anyone sell a high priced website on digital point before? $100K+ Is digital point the right place to list a website of this value?

    Anyone use any reputable brokers?

    Your feedback/opinion is appreciated.

Escrow.com is a Payment Processing website for large transactions. You cannot buy or sell sites there.

Sitepoint is great but I realize once you post the domain, you have bottom feeders wasting your time with 400 questions which they use for their own business instead of actually being interested in ours.

Any good brokers out there that have quick proven results?

If the site is selling for $100k plus, then it would probably be sold through regular business channels. I would assume, for that kind of money, it is generating significant revenue and there are many people looking to invest in a real business.

I would think if you started to advertise in magazines that cater to businesses for sale, franchises available and the like, you would find the type of people who can afford the purchase. Higher quality newspapers would also be a good idea.

Also, put together a professional presentation so that when serious buyers come forward, you have something to offer. No-one will spend that kind of money without something substantial to review and show to their lawyer or accountant. They require something upon which to complete their due dilligence.

I personally doubt that a site for that kind of money could be sold successfully on any of these forums.

Great Post. Thank you for your feedback guys...

The main concern is advertising the company for sale then having potential clients worry about change of management etc and not place the an order.

Not sure how to proceed. Guess it will be a long thinking process debating with myself.

The company does earn excellent income. about $150K with 85% profit margins.

    :)

Wow. 85% Profit margins on 150k? What sort of product do you sell. I have ~50K to invest / buy the site, but apparently that wouldn't even be enough, even if I wanted to buy it.

    internet services.

I don't want to post the URL as we're looking for a broker to deal with the sale as that seems like the best bet to get qualified buyers.

$150K easy annually on about $1-$2K advertising. Its a perfect market niche in a huge marketplace that is filled with BS suppliers... we've managed to network the brand to build a large following.

We're even willing to fly to the location of the new owner and to train on-site.

Ummm. Still looking for a good broker to use. Anyone know a reputable firm>?

Hi exe ... have you had any luck with ebay? Last year we listed a business earning $15K per quarter, the presentation and listed was prepared by a professional auction marketing company.. we didn't seem to get any good buyers. everyone just seemed interested in detailed information to copy the operations.

I guess it gets a little tricky

Eh. I know.. that's what most would say. I've had a few life altering events happen including an employment offer that is well beyond anything I've expected so just looking for an exit point on my network of businesses.

Yup, I've sold some hosting businesses on ebay, the last one being more than a year ago, although they were much lesser than that price but still $xxxx.

8-10% seems to be in-line with what most business brokers charge for sales below $500K... We have one broker advertising on our blogs at the moment, you might want to check them out.
