Hi guys I am selling Expertscolumn.com on which I have worked for past one year. I love this site so much but because of lack of time and management I am forced to sell it.

Expertscolumn.com is a revenue sharing website where users get paid on revenue sharing basis for posting articles to the site. For managing revenue sharing I partnered with crowda.com which is the perfect fit for it. There is also a concept of social networking implemented and the site is exremely user friendly. It has nice layout and design features (CSS).

There are around 2000 members and more than 1500 unique articles published on the site. The homepage has PR 4 and many individual pages have PR of 3. Alexa ranking as of today is 121,709. The site is fully SEO optimized.

According to Google Analytics for the past 30 days 28,204 different people have visited the site generating 71,109 pageviews in that period. This is a growth of 10% in vistor base as shown by Analytics.

The domain has been registered for upto 03 January 2013. It is currently being hosted on Hostmonster shared hosting environment. It saves me around $150 every month after distributing the revenue to the members. On a whole site makes around $10 per day on average basis.

I am selling the whole site and not just the domain name. The price has been set after considering many factors such as the domain name value which itself is in four digits, time taken to develop it, the marketing efforts put, revenue generated every month, number of articles which are unique, member base etc.

Very cool site. It appears that you've succeeded in getting some good content there. I didn't dig too deep, but didn't see any obvious spammy stuff up near the front pages. Looks like you've found a way to get decent free content.

But, yeah. Help me understand why I want to buy a site where I won't get my return for 5 1/2 years. Is there some obvious way to boost revenues?

Pretty hard sell there. Even if I'm a super IM badass, and create an instant 400% increase in monthly revenue, I still have 17 months until I've recouped my investment?

 

$150 is the amount that I personally make from this site. Rest is distributed to the members for their unique content that they published on to the site.

Sometimes the revenue could be more and sometimes could be less.

 

Thanks bille. The site depends upon user generated content and all the articles submitted are moderated before they goes live.

It won't take that long to get your return. It is just a start (though the domain was registered in January 2009, but the site was put online in August 2009 only). So it is just 6 months to it. The site is continously growing and good articles are being posted there daily. These articles are capable of earning you big money given you show little dedication towards the site.

Check Hubpages.com which is earning millions as of now. It is the same concept. When they started they borrowed huge loan for the operations and still it took them some time to establish themselves.

My dear friend, the site gives you endless earning opportunities. It's up to you how you take advantage of it.

 

If you decide to sell at the lower end of the 4 figure range, let me know. I don't think anyone is going to bid 66x revenue. Too risky.

 

It's your money and you have to decide on what it is worth? I am not compelling you to buy the site. It is upto whether you want it or not. I had have put so many efforts in developing and shaping the site and hence I am not going to sell it for cheap.

Cool site. PR is showing 0 for me but doesn't make too much difference. How is the revenue distributed to publishers? Is it automatic or manual?

Not sure where you get a "four digit" valuation for the domain alone - gets barely any searches.

I appreciate you've put a lot of work in but at the end of the day I'm buying based on potential and ROI not hours spent.
