Selling ebooks on Clickbank: About Us and FAQ page

I'm a newbie hoping to set up my own Clickbank product in the remedies niche.

I'm in the process of setting up the site structure (sitemap) of my website and I've noticed when I browse through the Clickbank Marketplace that a lot of the popular websites (decent gravity) don't have an 'about us' or 'FAQ' page link.

Is there a reason behind this?

I can understand it deters sales page leaks, but wouldnt the FAQ page reduce pre-sales email queries and the about page could be used to add credibility? Or would it be best to have these answered as part of the sales letter?

My gut feeling is to not have these extra pages as I'd rather model what already works, but if anyone could share their thoughts it would be appreciated.

google does not like "one pagers" that do not have "contact us" or privacy/TOS pages, thus creating those pages is highly recommended

I think you should create both pages, because this will make your site look for professional and Google also like sites that look authoritative. So, by creating those pages, I think it'll help your overall site Page Rank. Just my thoughts :)

Some sites have FAQ just incorporated into the landing pages. Also some sites do have an "about us page" and some don't. I think putting these links on your site all depends on what the websites over-all feel is like. About us pages can make your site look more professional and less "scamy".

Yeah I'm not too concerned about google at this stage as its not really an authority site.

I might do an A/B split test and see whether I get better conversions with or without these pages. And I think placing the links down at the footer is the way to go.

I never have an about us or FAQ page and my sites do very well. Although it would only take you a minute to create one of these

Not sure this issue is worth an AB test
