I'm not buying my domains from Godaddy. What if I have domain, for an example from Namecheap, how doe sthe selling happen?
Do I give my whole account ont he site or what?

    Thanks,

There is really only two ways, one is a "push" where you can just push the domain to another account holder on the same register for free. The other way is a transfer where you transfer the domain to someone else on another register and there would be a charge (whatever the register charges for a transfer).

The selling part is totally different but once the sale has processed then you will hvae to either push or transfer the domain to the buyer, you can sell various ways, on sedo, forums auctions, ebay etc or privatly.

You will have to use sedo or some other escrow service

How much does it cost to transfer the domain to another site? For an example from Namecheap to GoDaddy?

It costs 1 year reg. charges but you will get your remaining period carried over free to new registrar

This is not so related to the thread, but I didn't want to start a new thread.
I have started a website which is going pretty well. I'm gonna buy a domain and sell it when it gets even more popular.
If I buy the domain from, for an example from Name.com, are people gonna be interested at all? Seems that everyone are buying just domains registered at Godaddy.
I can't register at Godaddy because of my unverified Paypal.

I know Godaddy is cheap but I really don't like to use them them for various reasons. There are a lot of other options out there..1&1, NameCheap, Moniker
