Thats a lot to ask for a site that makes $1500 in 3/4 of the year. Usually its 18x the monthly income, so in your case, a good price would be around $3000 BIN. If you put it that low, I might consider bidding.

The site has steady income, had unique content, age, decent domain name, relatively good rankings, and lots of links pointing to it. This is not a run of the mill myspace/proxy site that the 12 to 18x monthly profit works on. I set the BIN to try and stop really low bids being placed.
Can you explain why the traffic and hence revenue has fallen so much since june? Also, you mention that you have other sites that link to this (sitepoint). Will these link be kept on after the auction and for how long?
I have not updated the site for the last 6 months which is why the traffic/revenue has decreased slightly. To answer your second question, none of the links that point to site are mine, they are all unique links having been part of the dog breeders/webring/award program. To participate in this they add code that I supply to display the dog breeder/webring/website award. In this code are several links to my web pages using anchor text, eg puppies, dogs, dog breeders. This has significant SEO benefits and bring with it traffic.
