Hey everyone, Here's a question that bothers me a bit in the last couple of weeks. I'm building a new online store with different electronics and other small quite cheap products. So here's the question, my main target is the USA, Canada and a few specific countries in western Europe. Is there anything legal I need to take into account? The Chinese manufacturers are going send the items directly to my site users (or "drop shipping" if you prefer) and I'm going to use Paypal both in order to receive the money and pay the Chinese manufacturers. At the same time I am going to open an official business in my own country as I do need to pay taxes for my Paypal income. The only question is, do I need anything additional? some kind of a retail/reseller permit or anything like that to sell online to USA citizens? Thank you !
you can talk with your advocate or drop your requirement in google forum peple will answer it coz there are too many legal advisor
Perhaps you should talk with a lawyer or a business consult. Perhaps checkout a local SCORE office if you have one in your area.
This is a general response and if there are issues I do not know it could change my answer: I do not think you have a legal problem selling your products into the U.S. The Internet knows no political borders and you are free to sell to anyone who acesses your site. There are laws, regulations and rules that need to be followed when selling your product in the U.S. - most notably the FTC regulations. If you are selling your products in an ethical manner and following the FTC regulations you should have no problems selling to U.S. customers.
Hi and thanks for your reply. Can you tell a bit more about the FTC regulations? And another question, how can I find out what kind of rules do I need to follow in terms of "14 days money back guarantee" for instance (and it might be different from one country to another, right?) OR maybe its different when its online? I just really don't know as I never sold anything online before. Thank you.
That has to be one of the worst posts ever. Either you are clueless or purposely trying to mislead - either way you have no business posting.
In india all china mobiles r banned so i thought china products are banned in usa too I had no intention to mislead people do your own work
He specifically asked about USA. So why answer the question when you have no clue what the answer is? I just don't understand why people who have no idea about a topic jump in and post. Did you think your random guess on the topic is helpful to someone looking for the actual facts?
Hey i have no problem selling products from china, the only problem is that if in my case the FDA recalls a product i need to stop selling it. your fine though, just state its origin and such lol read that on the FTC website hope this helps Good luck on your venture!
