Selling an eBook...Any experience?

I am planning on selling an eBook...anyone have any experience doing it? I have the book...about 20 pages on a niche topic.

Are there any affiliate places (like CJ.com or Azoogleads.com) that will distribute the book after payment is received?

What format is the book supposed to be in?

I'll take any info you have.

    Thanks,

    Brandon

ClickBank is probably your best bet for finding affiliates for an ebook - there's 10,000+ products out there already. The fee is a little steep (around 7.5%), but it works and they handle all the affilate payments (huge plus).

As far as format goes, PDF is common (with or without password protection), but I still see a lot of ebooks that are "compiled" with ebook generation software. Search Google for "ebook compiler" - I've always used PDF, so I can't comment on which ebook compilers are best.

As far as fraud protection goes, it really depends on the niche. If you're doing something like "Adsense Secrets of The Phrarohs ;)", you might consider password protection since internet marketing is rife with illegal copying. A tighter, less technical topic ("Raising Kids Who Don't Want To Go To An Expensive College") is probably safe with an unprotected PDF.

My personal preference is PDF - I've had tons of problems personally with compiled ebooks (SP2 Update as a prime example).

Does clickbank distribute the product or do you email the PDF book after clickbank shows you made a sale?

Thanks for you help so far.

Clickbank will send the user to a landing page you specify after the user pays. Usually the product is downloadable from that page. Clickbank also charges a $50 one time charge (at least they use to).

    Yeh they still do.

Does anybody know how that $50 is charged. (paypal, credit card, debit card)?

    Thank you

Definitely go to clickbank if you are selling ebooks ... I have three, and I do quite well with them.

It is a pretty competitive space, depending on your niche. Also, affiliates probbaly won't pick you up unless you are at least top 30 in a subcategory.

If you want to PM me, I have a lot of experience with clickbank, ebooks, landing pages, copywriting, etc.
