Does anyone promote books or products from Amazon based on the content of the pages? If yes, does it work well?

Books seem to be good performers. I would think your idea would work well.

I think books can complement a page because sometimes people arre searching for thourough information on a subject that they will not always get from a webiste, or have the abilty to read at their leisure. This is where promoting a book can be very useful.

Our book site has "Sell Direct" Links which can target books that complement your website/page..

As an affiliate you can create links for your site that when clicked give the appearance that the person is never leaving your site. Even the payment and download pages can have your header on them. The customer thinks they are never leaving your site, while we do all the processing "behind the scenes", and you make 20% per sale...compare that with Amazon which only pays 8%.
