I have an information website and using adwords PPC to drive traffic. Can I have a 'featured or recommended sites' section and sell advertising space on that page? It would located to the left of the content. Could google ban a website doing this? Sorry if this is an age old question.
I would still try to avoid it... at least on the landing page. You can get away with ads on your content pages, but it never looks good to ppc to a page full of ads.
Type 'logo bags' into google Uk You will see business.com is doing the exact same method, selling their own PPC system on thousands of landing pages!
A sales page needs to have one clear goal. Don't try to sell more than one thing at a time. If you're paying for clicks, you need to be trying to convert those clicks to the single most-profitable product you can find.
Thanks for the replies, but I still haven't got my question answered guys... Can I place ads with the landing page being a website directory (list of companies paying for ads) including helpful content?
I'm pretty sure I've seen landing pages before that had ads on them. But probably not obvious affiliate ads. But most are focusing on selling a single product, soo..
