I am selling one of my sites that has a VBulletin forum attached to it.

But i have no clue how to transfer it to the new owner without losing all of the posts and members. Is it possible to make a backup of everything that i can send to the buyer?

And also. How do i transfer a vBullting forum to a new owner?

    Thanks!!

    Hello,

Yes you would need to make a full backup (mysql) of the forum and send that over to the new owner as to the license in the vbulletin members area there is an option to change personal information (as far as i remember) in this area i advise you to remove all your personal info before you pass along the license and leave it to the new owner to enter his info, or however you want to solve it

as to the backup, it depends if you are on a hosting or a dedicated server, either way you can make backups, if you are on a hosting you will have to go to your cpanel most probably and make a mysql dump there, if you are on a dedicated server you can directly dump from the command line.. but i guess you are option 1

hope this helps, anymore more questions feel free to ask

    regards

I have created a backup file (.sql) for the my sql database. Is it enough now if I send this to him and just change the vbulletin license to him?
