I wanted to sell one of my sites here. But the request to link PayPal seems potential fraud. Is it legal? How is it possible to link here a PayPal account with a balance to a random forum with zero guarantee?
Hi Brian Digital Point is a trusted business, and PayPal allows it to display your account balance here. Likewise, PayPal is a multi-billion dollar company that would not permit this data sharing if it placed your account at risk. This forum has existed since the beginning of forums and has earned its profile among the most trustworthy businesses online.
First of all, PayPla is not a reliable service anymore. Read my post: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/paypal-is-no-longer-a-reliable-service.2882142/ Besides, I am more than sure no one here will guarantee my PayPal balance will be secure after linking it here.
I still use PayPal as my main e-wallet. I read your post and left you my take on the issue. While DP cannot guarantee your PP balance, they do assure the community that you have a verified PayPal account, which says a lot about your business.
Then let somebody hire your service, get the payment on PayPal, let's say 2500 USD, then deliver your work to the client and the next day PayPay will take your 2500 back + your own money. They told, they charge % from the disputed transaction, so if you get 2500, then PayPal not only take back 2500, but also will take 200 USD extra of your own money. Don't forget, you also pay commissions of the first transaction. In my case, the client accepted to pay me again + cover all expenses (PayPal fines, commissions, phone expenses, etc). But it could be an order of a website or complex video edition, etc, and I could deliver all templates and the clients could reject to pay again.
