I think this is only for United States. A new government policy imposes strict standards about reselling items that have been recalled. After looking over their consumer guidelines, I think a lot of this is geared toward baby and children products. I think they should go after the middleman who's reselling the product that's been recalled. An additional 24 pages to keep a track of isn't that much though. You should see the government paperwork I get each month.
But surely items are only recalled becuase they're considered unsafe which is why this makes sense, you don't want to buy a faulty electrical item that could catch fire and burn your house down ...
