Has anyone had any success doing web marketing/ promotion with your partner? Like for eg. if your product is widgets, you and your partner together do marketing/ promotion of widgets. Any orders obtained will be passed to supplier to do and profits will be split 50%-50% with your partner. Which is better - Do web marketing yourself (or hire other people) OR Do joint marketing and then profit-sharing with a partner ?
I'm doing self marketing via Facebook app and it's been doing well for now even with few content. I think self-marketing, if you take time to developp the material for it, can do very well. But I'd always suggest to do joint marketing and share profit. Good occasion to learn from others and it probably is easier to start up. Then it's up to you to invest to market products. But I'd keep the profit sharing. There's always plenty of people ready to market a good product for a profit share.
Any time you can leverage off of other people's efforts, sales are going to be easier. This is why joint ventures where you contact other webmasters to put a special sale of your product in their newsletter can be so effective. The webmaster gets a percentage and you get the rest of the profit. Joint ventures can be done like this, or you can even offer to write free content for somebody else's newlsetter or website in exchange for a link back to your site. This is a great way to take advantage of other people's traffic if your'e having troubles getting enough traffic to your own sites. So ideally it's wise to use a mixture of self-promotional stuff plus partnerships if you can find them with people who can help you make even more money. Dan
