Does self link to the page with anchor text helps in SEO ?

 

Yes, internal linking is one of the biggest factors I see people not implement. A good internal link structure can have a huge impact on your rankings.

PR is based on a page "voting" for another page, not on a page voting for itself.

I agree.

I do think that the anchor text pointint to links on your site helps though. For example, if you use "SEO Book" as the text that links to your home page over "Home Page" as the text, you may rank better for the term "SEO Book" in the SE's.

What I meant was that search engines count links as votes from one page to another while ranking sites .
A page voting for itself is like president voting for himself .

Sorry for the misunderstanding .
If a politician is going to vote , vote is going for himself .
For SE's this vote is useless ( page voting for itself)
