Hey. Im very new to the whole idea of an eBay affiliate store, and am interested in getting involved. Im considering buying BANS or some other software, but before i do, i have a few questions.

The keyword im looking at gets ~160 google searches a day (according to http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/index.php), and a search of this keyword yields ~700,000 results. Does it sound like a decent keyword to use based on these details? Also, the .org domain of this keyword is avaliable.

There are ~20,000 items listed for this niche on ebay, so its a decently high amount.

Does it sound like a good place to get started?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dan.

Yes. Don't get 'analysis paralysis'. Get your feet wet and try it out.

Yea thats what i ended up doing; I purchased the domain and have applied at CJ (now just waiting for a confirmation email..how long does it usually take?).

Now the next step is to get started on the site i guess, after i decide which store software im going to buy :)

Good. Now go find other permutations of your keyword and start SEOing your site for those.

I'd wait for the CJ confirmation email... and then make sure that you can actually get into the eBay program before going any further...

You don't HAVE to buy any software - you can always make your own site using an RSS parser and eBay's glorious RSS feed. If you know a tiny bit of php (or are willing to learn), it's pretty easy - and free :)
