Well, I didn't defend anyone. I personally think he's a dumbass, but I also think some of the people in the crowd were as well.

    I think you're overly Canadian...; p *remember it's humor*

Maybe in a different sentence he meant that (or perhaps there)...but it wouldn't make much sense in that sentence.

"I mean when I was going to school I was told they didnt have any room for me because i was white."

Why would the black people tell him they didn't have room for him?...Wouldn't it be the school admin telling him that? It just makes more sense. *shrug*

Americans have come as far as they have by the will of a very small majority; the Emancipation Proclaimation and everything since have been strongly opposed by the type of people who think telling a black American that 50 years ago he'd have been hung upside with a fork in his ass is okay because some black person, somewhere, said cracker.

I'm going to bow out of this argument before it gets any worse, but Richards' comments, while not life altering, are disgusting. His apology seemed fairly heartfelt, and I'm sure it's appreciate by white people across American. Black people know better.

No different post, a little ways up.

How many black Americans have you spoken to recently that thought the Bush administration, or white people in general, "blew the levies."

    Racist justification at it's worst.

    Oh Canada... :D

Haven't we all lost our cool? I've not done any racist rants, but I think we all have dumb moments in our lives. His was just a bit more offending to others.

I think we're probably one of the best countries in terms of tolerance. Tolerance doesn't mean liking in my mind...just allowing others to live freely. We allow anyone to live freely and think freely, as long as they're not violent. I'd say that involves a lot of moral difference, but I figure it makes us all the better.

Okay, I won't doubt you then. I just thought you were basing your opinion on that post.

You Canadians...lol. No insult (because I'm sure you see similiar things on us Americans), seem to have very similiar opinions on things. I know a lot of you canucks.

Damn you and your editing... ; p

Yeah, those comments aren't really of my likening. Sure some people assert things, but I don't like to generalize.

I remember you posting that before. I'm not really in favor with those whom hate white people just because they're white...oh, and they do exist. For obvious reasons. I think it's stupid to be overly judgemental of a person based on skin. I prejudge a lot things, but almost 90% of the time I'll push those views to the side...to really get to know what the person really is like.

I remember seeing two folks on oreilly. They were anti-white black gentlemen. I think they were part of the nation of islam deal...not sure. But I really couldn't deal with them as people, IRL. Not a chance in the world.

That is absolutely racist, and he'd receive the same thumbs down from me that Richards' does. On the other hand, he makes points based on experience and fact. Is it surprising that African-Americans have gone from the defensive to the offensive? I'm certainly not condoning his views and generalizations, and his idea that erradicating white people would solve his problems is more then misplaced, but how long can you keep a man down before he forces his way up, with force if necessary. I think this gentleman needs to be exposed to a white person that treats him with decency.

It's not that hard. Millions of white people really don't care what race one is. I'm thinking this guy doesn't really want to meet someone whom will treat him that way. Although it looks like he comes from the OG generation, which did experience a lot of shit.

Now-a-days, it's not as prevalent. People interact with each other a lot more.

It is kind of a shock that some people in this forum are not offended by this. It just speaks volumes of how much of a bigot you may be (no names necessary, you know who you are). There is really no defense for Richard's actions and yet you can claim ignorance to what had transpired by saying it does not bother you.

    Seinfeld must be spewing.

I sure won't be watching Seinfeld any more out of protest. Everytime I see Kramer I'll think of this guy in an absolute rage screaming out all kinds of stuff.

On another note wasn't Kramer's acting friend the really, really short guy black?

What about that Johnnie Cochran parody guy who was Kramer's lawyer?

I'm an anti-Denis Leary kinda guy. Liked him until he apparently ripped off Bill Hick
work wholesale. Hicks, now there's a chap who could deal with hecklers.
Warning: C-words, and other sweary words used.

I don't think that Michael Richards has the same wit to deal with being heckled.
If he meant his spiel to be funny, he failed.
He has done other stuff. I saw a version of David Copperfield last week and what
was really shocking was his portrayal of Mr. Wilkins Micawber. Worst Scottish accent ever!

Doesn't anyone else find it ironic that a guy who found fame on a Jewish TV show turns out to be racist?

Let it go! The comedy people do such things, and many people don’t get offended.

That's BS your hearing, chief. I've listened to a lot of Hick's and a lot of Denis. Nothing historically validates that to my listening. Look below on my signature for 'station'. The 'station', is primarily for progressive rock, standup, and turntablism. I've heard a lot from both of them,...virtually their whole album history's.

Denis is ten times better and more of real person.

The assertion is,... he stole subject matter. What is a comedian other than a few subjects? Shit I've listened to atleast 50 or so comedians, and I've found they just twist the same subjects...head, drugs, death, women, etc. Denis's subjects are actually more expansive than Hicks. Hick's subjects are primarily about his hatred of everything...it's true.

Some say he copied Hick's persona...they were buddies and things rub off on buddies...that's not plagarism, that's just being a human. The ilks that accuse him of plagarism in the industry often sound like they're takening from others...but that's comedy...humor has influence. I think Denis's method is fairly different, regardless.

I rate hicks relatively low (70/100) in my 'station' because he's always on politics , and has no real-life substance (hugely differing from Denis). The man is a walking gun, with one more bitter bullet to swallow. That's how he wanted to be portrayed...a lone ranger. *shrug*

The man had talent, but I think he wasted it on riding the same whore of a joke. Frankly I think Sam Kinison had a better approach to the rant.

Ok, Im really appalled to read how many people are defending Michael Richards actions and blatent disregard for the african american public. This is outright racism and anyone who condones it must have the same views as Richards. Really, im surprised at the condoning done in this thread... really. :(

I am not defending him in the least bit...I just want someone to admit to me that the heckler was a stupid ass for opening his mouth in the first pace AND THEN continued to barrage Richards after the fact..."All you had was Seinfeld and that was it..." was all that really necessary? He could have just walked out of the club @ any time.

so what, just b/c the guy pays a $20 cover he can be a total ass and shout at the performer during his set???

Will someone agree with me there?????????????????????????????

I've not seen anyone condoning his behaivour, nor have I seen anyone defend it. Absolutely no one here has agreed with it.

Just because I'm not surprised by another Hollywood lefty dimwit spewing hatred and throwing a temper tantrum does not mean I agree with their lunacy.
