Google's smart pricing has something to do with it. IN the first few days when I launched my site, the price per click is pretty high. But after a while, it dropped 80%.

I see none on the frontpage, I suspect you hit a stop word. You do have quite a bit of fires and homicides on the front page and maybe that is what causes it.

I am still averaging abt 50 cents/click, a small decline of a few cents in the past few months...

I see, there was a fire on Table Mountain so it was big news! Anyway, I've made a few posts since, so it will probably rectify itself... By the way, how do I ensure that I don't hit any other stop words?

I can't really say, it seems to stop on combinations too, I had a page that mentioned paris hilton, breasts and doggy (and lots of other text too) - if I took out doggy and renamed the page (so the adsense bot visited again) it worked, but with all 3 left in all I got was public service ads, another page with the words doggy worked fine.

So it's a bit tricky to see what causes it.

I get a decent traffic flow (about 500-800K IPs per month, 3 million impressions) and still saw that 20% down. Part of it is probably the end of a particular event that really boosted money and impressions, but it fell awfully suddenly. Could indeed be mmonthly budgets running dry. We'll know tomorrow, won't we? ... and I see the CPM is currently running about 20% above yesterday's...! I think end of hte month out-of-bdget is the best explanation.

i guess that does make a little sense. technically it could explain why less clicks are occuring since most probably the better ads aren't being shown anymore that generate the clicks
