SeekIt [Orkbo] Launches a New Features

Awhile ago I talked about a feature that I would soon implement in our search engine. Which was anonymous surf feature. I am pleased to announce that it is finally in the beta testing stage and is opened for everyone to test, and give opinions on. It will be very simple to operate and understand.

We understand that the script is common but we have implemented it fairly nicely and will eventually incorporate our very own in house, but we just want to see how much traction this one gets.

Right now it's only open to SeekIt.ws and soon will be on Orkbo, as SeekIt is the testing engine for Orkbo.

    Thank you

Slow, doesn't seem to really be an anonymous surf feature as the description would entail, where one would see the same output but do so using a proxy, but just a simple proxy script accessible from the same interface as a search engine script.

    Nothing innovative here, I'm afraid.

I also personally don't think much of new search engines simply duplicating existing concepts, with maybe a minor addition which is usually already available in another search engine. I believe Google's monopoly is established (you take results from it) and trying to out-do them is insulting to the internet, because you could be focusing your development efforts on something that is truly unique, or can truly be improved upon, and give you worthwhile traffic while giving the internet a worthwhile service.

    ehh, your opinion. Anyone else

BTW - It is Anonymous. What is not Anonymous? Please explain.

I know I can't out do them, I never said I was going to. Nor, do I plan on it. We currently use there results temporarily we are waiting for our own index to grow. You will eventually see our results integrated with current ones, and then eventually phased out.

There is nothing wrong with competition, and you don't seem to see the good sides to what this can do.

You have also no idea what features it's going to have, what you see now is not all it's going to have.

I'm not in the core internet search market I'm in the metasearch engine market right now.

BTW - I make good money with it already so...

I really like the look and feel. I especially like the Ajax menu at the top of the page (the buttons do not appear to currently work, I am assuming that will be fixed later).

Is this the same script/engine as your other search engine Orkbo? Not sure if you are closing Orkbo or just adding another search engine? Just curious as I just got 10 search engines online last week and am still tweaking them. The goal is to create a network of search engines where people can buy one ad and have it appear across 10 different sites. Just curious if you were trying to do the same?

Oh no no no. SeekIt.ws is the test engine to Orkbo. This is the engine I use to test feature Ideas, without having to mess up Orkbo.

Your idea could work, but you will have a competitor like ISDN and a few others which will make it hard. Building trust is key right now, I don't plan to introduce a revenue model until I'm satisfied with the quality of traffic.

I'm also working on a Advertising network that will eventually be integrated into Orkbo and Seekit but thats on down the road.

    @peterson82 - Thanks a million.

I'm considering a few other potential things to add to the engine, but as of now the to-do list contains the following.

    Weather
    Horoscopes
    News
    and a few others.
