Hi guys, I've created an online aquarium tool that allows people to figure out how much fishes they can keep in their aquarium configurations using various algorithms. The tool itself works nicely and I get some decent complements. I did do it for fun, and it was enjoyable so far... Now, looking at Google Adsense, I am struggling a bit. I put an ad on my test page and realized I can't even get aquarium ads to show half the time. Often, I get ads that are completely unrelated. This is probably because the page is a tool rather than an article so Google is probably not finding enough relevant words. I see few options: 1. Just make everything very wordy on this page, hoping Google will pick up some of these more relevant words. This will make the application itself more messy showing obvious words that don't help the functionality of the application. 2. Create more links from this main tool page pointing to articles and tips hoping visitors will go there and click on the ads. I don't like this idea since most of the visits will be on the main tool page. 3. Is there a way for me to force Google to show only ads based on certain words? In my case, it would be "aquarium" and "tropical fish". Appreciate some feedback for this newbie.
The same problem happened when I started installed adsense for the first time. Irrelevant ads started showing up and I got frustrated like anything. Believe it or not, it is the ir-relevant ads that are yielding me more money. Not everyone will be lucky like me, so if you want relevant ads to show up then please make every word count. That is the best way to do it.
are you using Meta keyword, and dicription tag in your website or not, it helps you to show relevant ads, please give link of your website, to let us see
without knowing your url its hard to say but the obvious are the meta tags make sure you have title, description and keywords etc using your chosen keywords write a short (300 words) article on each page with one or two instances of your chosen keyword. That should fix it otherwise you are going to have to resort to content targetting to nudge google in the right direction!
