I am about to translate a website to Spanish, Japanese and Chinese (Simplified) languages for a purpose to generate more traffic from foreign markets and drive more CTR on AdSense. Has anyone already done that? I would appreciate your comments on that. Thanks.
According to http://www.translation-services-usa.com/ Spanish has only 6.4% of overall Internet users which explains why you get so few traffic.
Then why would you bother to translate your site to Spanish? If you want a quality (read: understandable) localization of your site, you're going to have to drop a few bucks, so it may not be worth it. You could have users translate it for a BL or something, but that's no guarantee.
It may not be worth it now, but certainly aiming at the growing chinese market isn't going to do any harm in the long run
Hi, Just checked out your post from some time ago, I was thinking of doing the same thing. I have some content on one site in particular I could translate. The site doesn't get that many hits, but my CTR is very good and the return per click is also high so a few more hits a day would be great. My experiment would be to see if for a site like that it would be worth while. However I would respect your feedback on the subject, did you translate and was it worth while? regards
