No. SSI's are search engine friendly (although so are frames judging by this update  ).

We have been talking about algo changes on 2 DC's for about 4 weeks now. It all started straight after the final big daddy update.

Nobody was sure what was happening, If google was testing things or if they just hadn't swintched on the filtters etc.

The last week or so the have been rolling out these results on more and more DC's

It looks like google wastesting different things and is now happey with the results.

It should only be a matter of time before they rool them out on all the DC's

BUT............for those of us who know goolge well you never really now!!!!

Ah ... that's the beauty of being the king/queen of your industry. You don't follow a timeline other than your own whims - hmm, did I just describe Google or most women?

Also, algo changes don't necessarily mean TBPR updates, although it will generally be a precursor of such an update or change.

Finally - it's not that soon after, it's been nearly 3 mos. and hence, a new update/roll-out should be in the short-term forecast.

I am seeing some strange results on those data centres - There is a lot of disparity between "plural" and "singular" terms. - On previous results google showed a very close match between singular and plural - which makes sense - these results don't

I'm getting major fluctuations in traffic from Google lately no all sites. Somethings going on alright! Have not seen PR changes as yet. I'm expecting two sites to jump up PR very soon.

I am seeing fluctuations in rankings and traffic.

I am also seeing different pages being returned for some keywords, and more duplicate listings.

Bummer.....I agree something is going on.....we had a big jump in position about 3 weeks ago, knew it was too good to last. We have dropped in position as of this morning for keywords but our overall rank is still better than pre BD.

I did notice over the weekend that site description posted within google search results wasn't coming from our meta description but instead from the actual page content...similar to Yahoo. This has not shown up in today.

Been watching this for over 4 or 5 weeks now.....they are slowly rolling out new results. These results are a product of fixing a few issues that Bigdaddy tools apparently let them fix.

BTW: Much more quality results across a good amount of fields.

Do you know which datacenters are showing the newer results? Not the whole list but a few that I can check.

If you use this tool you can see.

    Multiple datacenter Position Check Tool

Here are some of the datacenters that are showing new results.

    http://64.233.179.104
    http://64.233.179.99
    http://64.233.167.147
    http://64.233.167.99
    http://64.233.167.104

But as I have said before about this update I would not take any notice till it is over really, I have now found another 2 diffrent sets of results coming though on other datacenters.

I was in 4th couple of weeks ago now on diffrent datacenters I have results saying 4th, 12th, 3rd and 16th.

Check your site using the tool I gave you a link for.

    Go figure. :)

Google deleting supplementary pages .. I was so panic the last week about that google dropping my sites indexing from xx K to few pages ... and as this didn t affect the whole DCs till now so I have the chance to track the problem, and up to what I can see now .. the 20 sites those I v been monitoring lost all of their supplementary pages ..
That didn t affect my ranking in SERPS (even some websites doing better now)
But the problem is my indexed pages by google getting so low and it is now one page (the homepage) left, some of them and many of good content pages dropped from the index (they were not supplementary pages)

and I v noticed .. most affected sites are .. ocmmerce sites (poor content just pictures with few words) I get on of them with 98% of its pages marked supplementary pages and they are start dropped from the index .. and now in the BD (as I pridict) I can se just the page without the supplementary mark shown in the index.

I hope that things getting better cause I get too much head ache just monitor the website index in the last few days

If you are unhappy about the rise in the SERPs of websites using frames, if indeed this is happening, please take a step backwards and consider that you might need to recheck your foundation. Using frames is perfectly acceptable website design and part of the W3C standard. The source of negativity toward frames among SEOs is that search engines traditionally have not handled frames very well; much like search engines have not handled dynamic URLs very well. Website designers became adverse to frames because, when they were introduced, their behavior in browsers was unreliable, similar to the introduction of CSS. Unlike CSS, the prejudice against frames has persisted, possibly in part because of their SEO implications. If a search engine company has found a better way to assess and index websites that correctly use frames, then those web sites should be ranked according to their content and not according to their html coding.

That is not the only problem with frames but this is not a disscussion about frames anyways, it was only brought up as it just seems strange as does many of the thing that go on during Google updates.

    Why frames are bad

    Why frames are evil
