If it's easy to do, place our username where it thinks registered members are, when we view it as a country. Oh noz!! Now ppl'll b able to see what part of Or-A-Gun da wacko iz at!!! Luckly I'm 90 milez away from Eugene!! er blame QWest!!!
You never know, there may be no use for it for a couple of years and all of a sudden you will have a need for something like this.
Nice tool, v impressed Should generate a few purchases for that ip2location db - I for one am extremely impressed with how accurate it is.
Ack, you wern't there earlier!!! It's a good thing is shows me in Eugene, away from where I really am!!!! Though for any member that really is in Eugene, they might not like it.
It can only trace you back to the address where the owner of your IP block registered the block of IPs (typically just to the city level, but not always).
I think there's a little bug in it. When you click any of the 'balloons', the 'pop-up' thing comes up and when you click 'View In Google Earth' It acts like you're trying to download usermap.php. That would be a great place to show the username. Making it easy to see who is 'next door'!!!
Ahhh it's a problem with tables, I tried moving doing the same but still got the error. IF anyone else is suffering put the JS outside any tables, at the end of the page is best bet. I didn't realise there was a google maps API. If anyones in the UK and wants to convert postscodes to long and lat then I have a script/data if you need it. I'm having fun seeing where my daily conversions/customers are on a map. Seeing buying patterns etc. With this data I know where to target my daily advertising. If the higest % of conversions are local to me in Liverpool. Therefore do i increase local advertising because it works and converts? Or do I increase advertising elsewhere because it doesn't? Fun and games are incoming. I love having the data to make decisions with, thanks Shawn.
