The sad thing is that I THINK in the end this will also work for Windows. :(:(

Yeah, there is a Windows one that is going to be done... but since I use a Mac, the Mac version was made first. :)

Yeah, I think it's a good idea. Professionalism can be casual.

Does each music update/check every five seconds use up one of the servers MaxClients? With us making a server request every five seconds, will this cause a self-inflicted DOS attack once there's hundreds of us using this at once?? It might be a good idea to add a few things to decrease the amount of use on this!

    1. Requiring XX posts to use this.
    2. Add a counter to the program. Every time 50 songs have been played, check the last date we loged in or posted and if it's been over say 10 days, have a message show up with a button forcing the program to shut down, with a message on how to get it to work again (loging in or posting). That might also be a great way to get people to come back to the message boards!

No... only updates to the server if it changed.

You got a Windows beta tester if you want one. I am sure DP and the world would be thrilled to know what I am listening to at any given moment.

I think it's a great idea. A bit busy, but that's unavoidable (if I get the meaning right.. I'm not gonna read through 12 pages). You've certainly got the hardware for it. :)

    cheers,

    JL

It's a "faceless" process running, so you either need to load it (for the option to kill it), or you can kill the process directly of course too. But since there is no GUI or anything, there is no way to go into it to quit directly.
