It's still doing well, though not converting as it was with the previous affiliate getsmart.com I'm now using lendingtree.com, but still very profitable. I did an update on my blog with screen shots: http://bigsensation.com/marketing-b...ting/affiliate-marketing-with-adwords-part-4/ Net profit on June 1 - 19th was $1000+ I'll update again at the end of the month. Thanks again for everyone's comments, both helpful and inspirational.
Not to steal the OP's thunder or anything, but this thread has inspired me to test an offer in the same manner that rob is, I finished up my landing page, ad copy and such and just posted it online and did my campaign...
I just finished it about 20 minutes before I posted that... Ill let you know how it goes... So far, my QS is great with .05 cent min bids, at .50 Cents a Click my average position for most keywords is around 11 or so... im bidding $1 a click now hoping to hit front-page with some force... Will update soon... Quick Update - At $1 Bid some of the more competitive keywords got a few impressions and are hanging around the 14-16 position - I upped those particular keywords to $1.50 a click hoping for some first page action.... I have yet to get any impressions on the Content Network, maybe it takes some time to fully kick in....
Well, you will have to keep waiting... 27 impressions so far, no clicks... All of my keywords were on the 1st & 2nd page divide so I upped the CPC to $1.25 hoping to get them all a bump... Added a few more keywords... Still not getting anything from Content network..
Is there an update to this post? Also, what about dynamic keyword insertion and such...or are we only going with high traffic keywords that we pay extremely too much for? As for SEM/PPC, I see that things have over-complicated aspects by too much. Search for AdSense Tips on my wiki/Adwords and you should come up with my large sections on SERIOUSLY optimizing the ads you place in your PPC campaigns
Ive had mixed results with DKI, some people have stated that Adwords doesnt factor DKI into your quality score, instead it checks the "general" landing page minus the DKI'd pages. Ive done much more optimization to the landing page itself... As far as the ads go, im covering general terms, yea they may be keywords that im paying alot for, but the point was to try the OPs method as well. Which was more of a full steam ahead approach... I plan to go through and add more long-tail keywords that should require a much lower bid.. For now...Adwords looks like: 1160 Imps 8 Clicks $9.53 Spend Avg Cpc is $1.19 my CTR is pretty dysmal at 0.68% No leads as of yet... The landing page is using htaccess redirects for the links... Im hoping that a redirect like that wont affect tracking otherwise that could be an issue.. Anyone know anything about that? Still nothing from the content network... Quick Update ------ I just added about 20 - 30 more keywords, many of which are more long-tail - My default bid is still $1.25, ill adjust each Keyword as necessary depending on position, etc.
Good to see you jumping in on this idea full force lazyd. I think I will be joining you on this soon.
Great info guys.. Im also interested to know if htaccess redirect affect tracking.. maybe someone can enlighten us
Hello again forum members. I've completed a full 30 days of this campaign and wanted to update you all on it's progress. Adwords Cost: $2229.23 Yahoo Cost: $88.14 Adsense Earned: $152.24 Affiliate Earned: $3680.00 NET PROFIT: 1514.87 I just recently added yahoo and msn ppc to advertise this affiliate. Yahoo is performing well, but msn has yet to get a single click, so no cost on msn yet. I've deleted several keywords this week which where not performing well. I've also added a small graphic to the landing page which seem to improve ctr, not enough data to confirm, but initial results are promising. With these changes, and the small improvements in ctr and ad position, this campaign should perform even better in July.
Here you go: I should have showed ya'll this a long time ago. Currently, 99% of the clicks and 100% of the conversions are going to the affiliate "fill in the blank form" at the top. A few clicks to the other banners/text links and adsense. I welcome any feedback to improve this landing page.
